Chinese Foreign Minister calls for China-India cooperation to strengthen multipolar world order
In a speech marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke of unprecedented global changes in the past century, warning that unilateral coercive actions and challenges to free trade and the international order have placed humanity at a “critical crossroads” that will shape the future of the world.
Emphasizing the key role of China and India as two large developing countries with a population of more than 2.8 billion people, he called on these two countries to act as great powers by demonstrating a sense of global responsibility.
Wang Yi considered China and India as models for developing countries that should strengthen their collective power through unity, help democratize international relations, and advance the multipolarization of the world.
According to him, the cooperation of these two great Eastern civilizations can lead to the restoration of their historical status, joint success, and the provision of stability and confidence to Asia and the world.
