Protests escalate in Tel Aviv, hundreds of thousands block roads

According to the Haaretz newspaper, hundreds of thousands of Israeli protesters gathered in central Tel Aviv and blocked several key roads, including the Ayalon Highway, the Tel Aviv-Jerusalem Freeway, and the road leading to army headquarters.

Protesters, who are calling for an end to the war in Gaza and an agreement for the return of prisoners, also gathered in front of the homes of several cabinet ministers.

These protests turned violent with the intervention of the Israeli police, and more than 23 protesters have been arrested so far.

This demonstration, described as one of the largest protests since the start of the Gaza war, reflects widespread dissatisfaction with the policies of the Netanyahu cabinet and the protesters’ emphasis on the need for a ceasefire and the release of prisoners.
