Golani’s expedition to Sweida and continued clashes with Druze groups

Local sources reported the movement of forces affiliated with Ahmed al-Sharaa, known as Abu Muhammad al-Julani, head of the Syrian interim government, towards the province of Sweida in the south of the country.

This campaign has been the scene of intense clashes between Druze groups and armed elements affiliated with Golani for the second consecutive day.

According to Syrian sources, Druze groups in eastern Sweida resisted attacks by Golani forces yesterday and managed to capture a number of them.

In order to reduce tensions, all those detained by tribes and local groups in the province were released.

However, clashes continue and the situation in Sweida is reported to be unstable.

These developments come as sectarian tensions and disputes between local groups and Golani forces have intensified in various regions of Syria, raising concerns of further instability in the country.
