Iraqi Prime Minister: Israel’s violation of Iraqi airspace is an infringement on Baghdad’s sovereignty

In an interview with the BBC, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani considered the violation of Iraqi airspace by the Israeli regime to be an infringement on Baghdad’s national sovereignty and a violation of the United Nations Charter, and announced that Iraq had submitted an official complaint to the Security Council.

Referring to Iraq’s balanced diplomacy, he emphasized that the country has sent clear messages to its allies about the danger of the current situation in the region and the non-negotiable nature of Iraqi sovereignty.

Al-Sudani warned that attempts to collapse the Islamic Republic of Iran would have dangerous consequences for the entire region, and that the spread of war could threaten Iraq’s security and stability, energy supplies, and oil exports to regional countries.

Referring to the statement of the Supreme Imam of Najaf Ashraf regarding the danger of continuing the war, the Iraqi Prime Minister stated that the Iraqi government has succeeded in keeping the country away from entering into conflicts.

Al-Sudani, referring to Iraq’s good relations with Iran and the United States, noted that both sides understand the importance of Iraq’s stability.
