French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, in threatening statements, called on Iran to enter into nuclear negotiations with European countries.
He warned that if Iran refuses to negotiate in good faith to reach a strict and lasting agreement on its nuclear program, France and its European partners could send a formal letter to reinstate global sanctions on Iran’s nuclear weapons, banks and insurance companies that were lifted ten years ago.
These statements come at a time when Iran has repeatedly emphasized that it will not surrender to threats and sanctions and will not accept negotiations under pressure.
