Iran’s warning to the United Nations about Trump’s threats

Iran warned the United Nations about the “reckless and provocative statements of US President Donald Trump who threatened to use force against Iran and stressed that any aggressive action will have severe consequences.”

According to Reuters, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Irwani, in a letter to the Security Council, referred to Trump’s words in an interview with Fox News, in which he said that he prefers to reach an agreement to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons rather than bombing Iran.

Last week, Trump resumed the “maximum pressure” campaign against Iran and is trying to reduce Iran’s oil exports to zero in order to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
