“Antonia Costa” officially accepted the responsibility of the presidency of the European Council

According to Neue newspaper “Zurich Zeitung”, during a ceremony in Brussels, “Charles Michel” officially handed over the responsibility of the presidency of the European Council to “Antonia Costa, the former Prime Minister of Portugal”.

“Costa” said at a ceremony in Brussels: Today, the only way to be truly patriotic is to build a common Europe; Because only together we can work for security, stability and peace in our continent.

Costa also emphasized that as the president of the European Council, he wants to emphasize this responsibility every day, which means strengthening this unity and preserving diversity.

It should be said that the president of the European Council is ready the creation of European Union meetings in which 27 heads Member countries meet.

He should also lead the working meetings and try to‌ European Union leaders create unity; Costa will officially start his work on December 1.

However, Costa, who is a 62-year-old socialist, has about 10 years of experience as prime minister.
