The Venezuelan government condemned the US sanctions

The Venezuelan government condemned the new sanctions imposed by the United States on Thursday night 12th of September.

According to AFP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela announced in a statement in this context: “It strongly rejects the new “aggression” of the United States government against Venezuela.

Another part of this statement states: “The US government seeks to please the political class that has resorted to fascist and violent methods to overthrow Maduro.”

Today, the Biden government sanctioned 16 people close to the president of Venezuela, alleging fraud in the country’s elections and suppression of political opponents by the Maduro government.

The United States has included the president of the Supreme Court, the director of the election council, the vice president of the parliament, and several Venezuelan military officials in the list of sanctions.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gill said the government rejects the new US aggression against Venezuela.
