Yemen makes Riyadh airport flights conditional on humanitarian permits
Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, announced that based on the forces’ decision, only humanitarian flights are allowed to fly to Riyadh Airport, provided that they have received the necessary permission from the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center in Sanaa.
This decision comes as tensions between Saudi Arabia and forces based in Sanaa have increased. Saeed had previously said that in response to Saudi attacks, the country’s fields have been placed on the list of targets for the Yemeni armed forces.
Al-Mayadeen News Network reported 10 Saudi airstrikes south of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and reported that the telecommunications network was targeted in these attacks.
The Saudi General Civil Aviation Organization has also announced that at least three people were killed and material damage was caused in two attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Thursday. The organization said that it is investigating the extent of the damage and coordinating with security agencies.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry has also condemned the Saudi attacks and said that the continuation of these attacks will hold the international community accountable; Sanaa officials have warned that the Yemeni armed forces have identified targets based on the principle of reciprocity and have called on others to avoid these areas.
