After a report by Axios was published about Riyadh and Damascus’ plan to send thousands of Syrian troops to Yemen, Ahmed Mawfaq Zidan, media advisor to Abu Muhammad al-Julani, denied the report and said that the news of sending Syrian troops to Saudi Arabia or Yemen was false and baseless.
Zidan wrote on X Network that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region is inseparable from the security of Syria, and that Damascus stands by Saudi Arabia; however, the claims made about Riyadh’s request to send Syrian forces to Saudi Arabia or Yemen are not true.
