The head of the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council announced the start of military operations against Ansar Allah
Rashad Al-Alimi, head of the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen, has announced the launch of a large-scale military operation to retake areas under Ansar Allah’s control and expand government sovereignty throughout the country.
Al-Alimi said in a televised speech that the military operation began after efforts to reduce tensions failed; he called on the military and security forces to begin their operations based on the plans set on various fronts.
He stated that the goal of this operation is to recapture the remaining areas and restore the sovereignty of government institutions throughout Yemen.
This action comes as clashes between Saudi-backed government forces and Ansar Allah have intensified in recent days, and Saudi Arabia has been exploring more military options to support Yemeni forces.
