Popular Mobilization Forces held a “Martyrs’ Victory” parade in Baghdad on the occasion of National Sovereignty Day

The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) has announced that it has held a “Martyrs’ Victory” parade in the country’s capital on the occasion of National Sovereignty Day and coinciding with the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq.

The Popular Mobilization Forces statement said that the ceremony was held to honor the forces who, according to the organization, died defending Iraq’s soil and sacred places.

In this parade, the military vehicles of the Popular Mobilization Forces departed from the headquarters of the organization’s media directorate and, after passing through Tahrir Square and a number of Baghdad roads, gathered in the square.

The ceremony was held as Iraq celebrates National Sovereignty Days following the complete withdrawal of American forces and the end of the international coalition’s mission against ISIS.
