Saudi security officials have denied reports published on social media about an attempted suicide attack at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
According to the security forces, an individual has been arrested for harassing passersby and causing fear and panic among the public and has been referred to the public prosecutor for legal proceedings.
Saudi authorities have not yet confirmed that the arrested individual was in possession of a suicide vest or explosives.
Meanwhile, some foreign news sources have considered the video posted on social media to be old and said that the video is related to the neutralization of a bombing operation in the Grand Mosque in 2017.
