Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan has arrived in Washington to continue talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, amid rising tensions between Riyadh and Yemeni armed forces.
The meeting is expected to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, including the situation in Yemen.
The Saudi regime had previously called for a US military confrontation with the Yemeni armed forces; however, Washington has so far refrained from carrying out direct attacks against Yemen.
The United States and Saudi Arabia have repeatedly discussed the blockade of Yemen and efforts to achieve a political solution to the crisis in recent years.
