A Panamanian-flagged tanker was hit by an Iranian missile in the Strait of Hormuz

The British Maritime Safety Authority has announced that a Panamanian-flagged oil tanker was targeted by an Iran’s missile while passing through the Strait of Hormuz and was unable to continue its journey.

The tanker sent an emergency message via VHF radio channel 16, announcing that it had been damaged by a projectile and was unable to continue its journey.

Published reports say that the oil tanker Ryan Star was targeted this morning while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The tanker was reportedly targeted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy for what Iran called “unauthorized traffic.”
